Navigational Watch Keeping Officer (NCV)
For operating in near coastal voyages

Deck Cadet (NCV) Deck Rating
Entry Requirements Matriculation (10th Std), Company Selection, 18 or above ,Upto 23 for grad, Pre-sea Standard Medical req. Matriculation (10th Std), Company Selection, 18 or above, Pre-sea Standard Medical req.
Pre-Sea Education & Training 3 months course 3 months course
After completing pre-sea education and training candidates move to sea-going service
Sea Going Service 18 months, (includes onboard training, TRB and 6 months supervised bridge watch keeping duties) 36 months, (includes 6 months supervised bridge watch keeping duties)
After completing sea-going service candidates move onto post-sea education & training
Post-Sea Education & Training Assessment of TRB, NWKO (NCV) Course, 4 months NWKO (NCV) Course, 4 months
On completion of post-sea education candidates have to pass examination & assessment
Examination Written & Oral Exam Written & Oral Exam
Candidates Receive CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY For Navigation Watch-keeping Officer (NCV)
